Ten People Hospitalised After 71-Year Old Woman Poisons’ Water At A Funeral

A 71-year-old Plumtree woman reportedly laced a bucket of water with poison at a funeral.

10 people were hospitalised and discharged after complaining of stomach pains following the consumption of the water.

In a statement, the police took to their Twitter page and wrote:

Police in Madlambuzi are investigating a case of attempted murder which occurred at Luvuluma Village on 07/11/21 at 1730 hours. A 71 year old woman is suspected to have laced a bucket of water with an unidentified substance at a funeral.

10 unsuspecting mourners drank the water which was in the kitchen and subsequently complained of stomach pain and painful throats. The victims were referred to Plumtree District Hospital where they were treated and discharged.

In other news, iHarare reported that a notorious armed robber who was part of a R1,2 million money heist was arrested after the victim reportedly consulted a faith healer ‘madzibaba’ in a bid to recover his money.

32-year-old Freeman Ndudzo of Dulivhadzimo was arrested after he and his accomplices pounced on the Beitbridge businessman’s house and reportedly threatened to shoot him and his family while demanding cash on the 9th of October.

The businessman lost R1,2 million and US$3 500 to Ndudzo and his accomplices who are still on the run.

Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed Ndudzo’s arrest on 5 November saying;

The Zimbabwe Republic Police confirms the arrest of Freeman Ndudzo (32) on November 5, 2021, by detectives who were pursuing a case of unlawful entry and theft.

… The suspect is linked to several robbery cases that occurred in Beitbridge including the purported theft case of R1.2 million reported recently.-iharare
