In a tear-jerking development, the government has announced that it is going to demolish all houses and developments around the Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport area.
Some of the houses that are set to be demolished include those that are in the posh Arlington Estate and Retreat residential suburb.
The bombshell has stunned property owners who had constructed their posh villas in the residential suburb.
Speaking on the demolition of Arlington Estate, Harare Metropolitan Province Secretary for Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Tafadzwa Muguti said the developments in Arlington Estate and Retreat residential suburb had fallen into the restricted area of the airport and the developers had since been instructed to stop.
Muguti argued that the developments in the Arlington Retreat areas should never have been allowed to happen, according to the Civil Aviation Act and the Airports Company of Zimbabwe Act.-iharare
