The late former president Robert Gabriel Mugabe’s son, Robert Tinotenda Junior, was reportedly involved in a horror accident after his luxury SUV flipped over.

According to a local online publication, the accident occurred when his Range Rover Vogue vehicle overturned in the Eastern Highlands region of Zimbabwe.

Robert Junior’s accident reportedly happened at Rwatsumbu before Watsomba, on the road from Mutare to Inyanga.

Details on what caused the accident are still sketchy. However, The former President’s son is said to have suffered no serious injuries and is currently in hospital where he is being checked out.

“Reports say that Robert junior Mugabe has escaped death by a narrow margin after his a landrover vogue just after fell off the road at rwatsumbu vatsomba.

“However, his condition is stable and did not sustain injuries as he has been rushed to the hospital.

“We are still waiting for an official confirmation from the family. This comes after Robert has resurfaced to continue with legacy that his father left and to continue as a Zanu Pf member.”

A few days before the accident, Robert Junior shared photos with his friends showing them on vacation in the Eastern Highlands.

Earlier this year, Robert Junior was reportedly hospitalised at a private hospital in Singapore after he suffered a collapsed lung.

The 30-year-old was alleged to have suffered a collapsed right lung a few hours after he landed in Singapore.

According to reports, Robert Junior sought medical attention after suffering severe pain in his torso.

He was immediately admitted at an unnamed Singapore private hospital after doctors realised that he had a collapsed right lung.

The doctors did not waste any time and scheduled surgery for the late president’s son.

The surgery went well, and Robert Junior recovered well.

The late President Robert Mugabe used to travel to Singapore regularly for medical checkups. The long-time leader also died in Singapore at the age of 95 in 2019.

He had been admitted at the Gleneagles Hospital in Singapore for about seven days when he died.

Many politicians and wealthy Zimbabweans travel abroad for medical treatment because of the poor state of the country’s health services.-iharare
