Versatile DiepCity Zimbabwean Actor Mluleki ‘McGeorge’ Moyo On How He Landed Role As Humble The ‘Fake Pastor’
Versatile actor Mluleki Moyo, commonly known as McGeorge in the creative sector, has detailed how he landed his role as Humble the fake pastor on DiepCity.
Mlukeli Moyo joined DiepCity as Humble brother to Pastor Charleston, played by Chrispen Nyathi who is coincidentally also a Zimbabwean.
Moyo is a versatile individual who is not only an actor but also a musician, stand-up comedian and MC. He made his acting debut as Humble on the popular Mzansi Magic telenovela.

He said he used social media to land the role on DiepCity after one of his monologues on Instagram impressed the show‘s director Mandla N who invited him to audition on an Instagram Live set-up. McGeorge said:
I joined DiepCity in its first season, early 2021 as Humble, Charleston’s brother who is a fake pastor. I got the role from posting monologues on Instagram and got to audition on an Instagram live setup with the director Mandla N. They liked the performance and I was called two weeks later to join the cast.
Mlukeli Moyo said his performance as Humble on DiepCity has helped him gain recognition in the South African film industry. He said
My journey on the show has been awesome as I’ve gotten a lot of recognition in the industry
When asked what advice he would give Zimbabweans looking to make it in the South African film industry, Moyo urged them to work hard, and remain focused and dedicated. McGeorge said:
They need to push as much as they can as it can only get better with the work they put in. Focus and dedication are key.
As a musician, Mluleki Moyo started recording in 2016 and stopped due to a lack of resources and exposure. He, however, resumed his work as a musician by releasing an Amapiano single titled Shosholoza featuring a South African artiste called King Monopoly.
Mluleki Moyo was born on May 16, 1993, in South Africa to Zimbabwean parents. He later moved to Tanzania in 2003 to stay with his aunt when his parents passed away.
He returned to Zimbabwe in 2005. Moyo enrolled at Milton Junior School in Bulawayo in 2006 for his Grade 7 studies. His stay in Zimbabwe was however shortlived as he returned to South Africa in 2007 where he has stayed to date.-iharare
