A Nigerian student was brutally attacked by his classmates for refusing to let them copy his exam answers.
The incident reportedly happened at the Federal University, Dutse, in Jigawa State, Nigeria, where the student was writing an exam on environmental management and toxicology.

In a video trending online, the student was bleeding from his head after being hit with bottles outside the exam hall. A witness claimed that the student had covered his answer booklet when his colleagues were asking him to open it, and that he was beaten up for it.
He added that the student was facing the consequences of failing to do the “reasonable thing” expected of him. He added that the student was taken to a hospital for treatment.
The video has sparked outrage and condemnation from many, who have called for justice for the victim and punishment for the perpetrators. Some have also questioned the security and academic standards of the university, and urged the authorities to investigate the matter and take appropriate action.
Outrage Over The Barbaric Act
The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) condemned the attack and demanded that the university management and the police should arrest and prosecute the culprits.
The NANS president, Sunday Asefon, said in a statement that such barbaric acts should not be tolerated in any academic institution, and that students should uphold the values of honesty and integrity.
The Federal University, Dutse, has not issued any official statement on the incident as of the time of publishing. However, a source from the university told Legit.ng that the institution was aware of the incident and was working with the police to identify and arrest the suspects.
The university had a zero-tolerance policy for examination malpractice and violence, and that anyone found guilty would face severe sanctions.
