The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has arrested Affirmative Action Group (AAG) President and socialite Mike Chimombe along with two other men for allegedly violating Covid-19 regulations.
The trio reportedly hosted a public gathering of 300 people in Borrowdale.
Chimombe’s arrest comes barely a few days after his vice President Passion Java gathered thousands of Glen View residents.

In other news, iHarare reported that on Tuesday, President Emmerson Mnangagwa relaxed the lockdown regulations from level four to level two.
This saw curfew hours being reduced and business operating hours being increased among other adjustments. However, bars, beer halls and nightclubs remain closed.
The issue on the reopening of bars and drinking spots seems to be highly contentious and has resulted in mixed reactions. Some people questioned the logical and scientific basis for increasing the curfew while at the same time banning bars.
Some mocked the authorities’ stance over bars saying the situation is different on the ground. They claimed that a lot of bars are already operating and have been operating despite the lockdown regulations.
Others, however, welcomed the ban and called on the authorities to keep it in place.-iharare
