Baba Harare recently opened up about his new wife and his decision to transition from Jiti to gospel music.

This comes after a report by the daily tabloid H-Metro quoted unnamed former friends who claimed that the Jiti musician switched to gospel because of his new wife.

Baba Harare refuted the claims that he recently got married, stating that he and his wife have been married for some time but chose to keep their relationship private.

“I have heard people say I recently got married, which is false. I have been married to her for some time, but I did not want her to be in the media. Social media went into an overdrive when her images were publicised with many versions coming up,” he said.

The 35-year-old multi-instrumentalist also denied that his wife influenced his decision to leave Jiti for gospel music. Instead, Baba Harare described a spiritual calling he experienced during a sold-out show in Australia.

“Early this year we travelled to Australia with my group where I had a sold-out show. The fans embraced my music, but God spoke to me and convinced me to quit secular music and serve Him. I know I will miss travelling and stuff but I do not regret this move. This is the wisest move I have made in my life,” Baba Harare explained.
