Chisi is facing charges related to impersonating a public official and fraud. He appeared before Harare magistrate Mrs Judith Taruvinga who rolled over the matter to today for continuation of bail hearing. iHarare has learnt that the State is opposing bail for Chisi on the grounds that he faces a serious offence.
The court heard that between April and October this year, Chisi posed as a specialist, a physician registrar, at the Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals. Chisi worked in the hospital’s Accident and Emergency (A&E) Department.
His luck ran out when concern among fellow staff members grew with regards to his skills and ability. The concerned workers raised a number of inquiries which resulted in the fake medical doctor being exposed. Chisi was apprehended by Doctor Tapiwa Nyakudya who had discovered some anomalies on his conduct that contrasted the medical profession. Upon being challenged to authenticate his qualifications, Chisi failed to produce his practising certificate.-iharare
