Harare Businessman Found Dead In Rainbow Towers Hotel Elevator

A Harare businessman who disappeared during a party at the Harare International Conference Centre (HICC) on May 5 has been found dead in a non-functioning elevator at the hotel.

Givemore Panganayi reportedly attended a party at the conference venue inside the Rainbow Towers Hotel in the company of his best friend Suluman Chimbetu.

According to his friends, Panganayi stood up during the night to answer a call on his mobile phone, but he never returned.

A police source said the decomposing remains of Panganayi were discovered by a hotel employee on Tuesday afternoon in a non-functioning lift.

The body was recovered to Parirenyatwa Hospital by police officers later in the evening for a post-mortem.

On the 5th of May 2021, Panganayi allegedly went missing from the Harare International Conference Centre (HICC).

A local publication reports that according to a family spokesperson who is not yet ready to be named, Panganayi was invited to a party at HICC and he went with his best friend Sulumani Chimbetu.

In the middle of the party, Panganayi’s phone rang and he excused his friends and went out to answer the call. From that minute, he didn’t come back and noone knew where he was.–iharare
