There were three cases of robbers breaking into private schools, stealing cash and valuables, and making away with them.
Three schools, namely Lomagundi College, Sacred Heart College, and Ariel School reported robberies at their premises.
Robbery at Lomagundi College
On 9 January, ten armed robbers pounced on Lomagundi College and held the staff and security hostage. They went on to break into offices and got away with some cash, guns from the security team, cellphones and laptops.
After getting all that, the robberies got away in a Mazda Tribute that belonged to Mr Tendai Masombo, the deputy school head. The robbers did not take any money belonging to the school but took cash that belonged to the staff members. The police are looking into the matter and investigating the case while the parents of the students were notified of what had taken place.
