Multi-award-winning Zim Hip Hop artist, Ti Gonzi, born Tinashe Gonzara, has been dragged to court after he reportedly assaulted his former wife.
The rapper was not asked to plead when he appeared in court over the weekend.
His estranged wife Esther Tendere took to the witness stand and told the court that she wanted to withdraw the matter before plea.
Tendere said her former husband is the one who is providing for the upkeep of their four-year-old son and has a head injury that needs constant check-ups and he has since apologised.
Police records indicate the scuffle took place at Avondale Shops on 25 March when the two were due to discuss the welfare of their child.
Ti Gonzi allegedly asked why his wife was always insulting him over the phone, and then assaulted her with clenched fists on her face.
The accused allegedly threw the pliers he was holding, hitting her right thigh and injuring her in the process.
Tendere was rescued by her friend, Natalie Musins and a well-wisher.
