A bitter Zimbabwean “mbinga” based in South Africa is unrelentingly demanding his US$91,000 lobola and wedding money back from his wife after their marriage fell apart.
Wife Flees Despite “Mbinga” Paying US$91,000 Lobola, Offers Daughter To Replace Her
H-Metro reported that the businessman, Shepherd Chipatiko, is demanding US$91,000 back which he splurged on lobola and wedding festivities from his ex-wife after their brief marriage crumbled.
Shepherd’s union with Varaidzo Marylyn Kunze fell apart in December 2023, and he is now suing her for R15,000, accusing her of spreading false allegations against him.
As if that’s not enough, Shepherd claims Varaidzo even proposed that he marry her daughter, Thando Sibanda, an offer he declined. Varaidzo fled and Shepherd is now offering a R10,000 reward for information on her whereabouts.
The jilted man spoke to H-Metro:
“I now want her to refund me the lobola payment and celebrations amounting to US$41,570, posh car for US$21,198, Bitcoin loan of US$5,500.”
After their marriage, Shepherd had given Varaidzo the US$5,500 so she can invest in Bitcoin. He never recovered a cent from the money. The businessman listed other payments he wants from his ex-wife.
“She made a misrepresentation of a fake pregnancy, US$17,619, age misrepresentation, and about having one child when she has two kids. I also want US$825 for defamation of character.”
Bed Of Lies
Shepherd and Varaidzo’s marriage was built on loads of money and lies. The crafty woman lied to the “Mbinga” about almost everything. Shepherd even suspects that Varaidzo dated him and someone else and she was deciding on who to settle for.
He rued:
“We separated last year in December and I gave her US$10,351 to start her life after lying to me several times. She lied that she was pregnant and she was dating someone here in SA. She was weighing on who to stay with and I engaged the guy who also said she was a fraudster.
“This woman lied about her age that she is 38 yet she was 48 and even promised to give me her daughter, who is 25 years. She promised to destroy my reputation.”-iharare
