I’m mending bridges: Maskiri

RAPPER Maskiri says he is focusing on mending bridges with local producers as he sets eyes on launching his brand, Mhondoro Music.

The wordsmith has so far roped in three producers GT Beats, Mavyd and Rodnee who are combining efforts to work on his eighth offering titled Mbinga from Binga.

He says the 12-track album is due in February next year

In an interview, the singer said:

“I have a bond with GT Beats and building one with Movyd since this is my second time working with him.

“This is my first time roping in Rodnee to make sure my eight album is a well-polished product,” he said.

The rapper said he is putting final touches to the album and has already began releasing few songs.

Songs that have so far found way to fans include Mabude and Mai Mukudzei.

“I have so far released two songs off the album and am happy that they have been well received and the feedback has been positive.

“Three more songs will drop before Christmas whilst rest of the album will be out by February next year,” he said.

Maskiri who celebrated his 40th birthday this year says he is also taking time to nurture young people.

“I have been taking some time out to help a few talented young artistes to find their feet.

“I wrote songs for Blackrose, an upcoming artiste I will launch trough the Mhondoro Music,” he said.

The Tapinda Tapinda singer has already collaborated with Blackrose on Mabude and is still to unleash Josh, a dancehall singer.

He feels the new project will surpass the hype behind albums such as Muviriwese, Blue Movie and New Look.-iHarare
