WestProp Gets A Green Light For An Exciting New State Of The Art Property Development

In a new development, the Harare City Council has issued a compliance certificate to phase two of the Pokugara Residential Estate development, which includes low-density residential stands, according to West Property.

Pokugara is located around a dead wetland and is designed in accordance with the live, work, play, and shop concept, which combines sporting venues, a mall, swimming pools, and tennis courts.

The property development is thought to be amongst a few in Zimbabwe that strives to create properties that target to accommodate the need of people with disabilities.

Speaking on the challenging development, West Properties CEO Mr Ken Sharpe says they plan to revive a defunct wetland on the property and reintroduce the birds and aquatic life that formerly adorned the landscape.

“We are committed as part of our Corporate Social Responsibility to develop and bring to life in partnership with EMA the wetland core so that we can re-engineer an eco-park of natural flora and fauna,” he said.

“We have dubbed our development “Bringing Dubai to Zimbabwe” because of the high-end structures we are building. We are building safe gated community neighbourhoods where people can live, work, play and shop in as well as amenities that include sports facilities for tennis, swimming, running, and walking tracks, braai areas, crèche, church, co-working spaces, shopping malls, internet connectivity and green energy in the form of solar energy and above all a royal experience to live in style,” added Mr Sharpe.

The compliance certificate that signifies the start of the property development was issued by the city council on 15 December last year, iHarare has learned.

In issuing the certificate, the city council acknowledged the developments that have been made by West Properties.

“I hereby certify that the conditions relating to installation of separate water and sewer connections have been satisfactorily complied with on the mentioned stands. Construction of roads and storm water drainage including installation of entrance culvert has been completed for the stands 40003 to 0012, 40013 to 40042 and 40043 Harare Township,” the council statement read.-iharare
