Uganda Airlines Crew Members Suspended After A Video Of Man Selling Grasshoppers Aboard The Plane Goes Viral
In a first of its kind, a Ugandan man was captured in a viral clip selling grasshoppers to excited passengers who were aboard Uganda airlines flight that was leaving for Dubai.
The video of the highly entrepreneurial Ugandan citizen hawking grasshoppers inside a plane at Entebbe International Airport before take-off has caused a frenzy on social media.
27-year old Ronald Mubiru has been identified as the man who was filmed selling the grasshoppers.

In the viral video, Mubiru can be seen hawking grasshoppers, to seated passengers from a large paper bag while others continue to board.
Grasshoppers which are locally known as Nsenene in Uganda are loved by Ugandans who treasure them for being a sumptuous delicacy
Meanwhile, Uganda Airlines has since condemned the incident. They have described it as an unruly market experience.
Reports indicate that the staff members were suspended for allowing the man, who had no face mask, to go against the country’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in light of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Uganda’s minister for Works and Transport, General Katumba Wamala, is said to have called for the suspension of the crew members on duty for what he termed as “misconduct”.
“I work with the leadership of the Airlines, and if they see fit that the people responsible when this particular incident happened should be suspended, they should be,” said Gen Katumba.
On the other hand, after the video went viral, Uganda Airlines has announced it will start offering grasshoppers, as part of its special inflight menu. -iharare
